First International Camel Day Celebration in Vietnam

On June 14th, 2024, ULIS-VNU in collaboration with the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Hanoi organized the International Camel Day 2024 celebration with the theme “The Role of Camels in Saudi Arabian Cultural Heritage”.

Delivering his speech at the ceremony, Mr. Hamoud Almutairi – Deputy Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Vietnam believed that the ceremony was a good opportunity to honor the unique cultural values ​​of camels in the lives of people on the Arabian Peninsula, contributing to popularizing the culture of the Arabian region to the Vietnamese public, consolidating the firm position and enhancing the presence of camels in the region and around the world.

Delivering her speech at the ceremony, Vice President Ha Le Kim Anh believed that this event was a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese people to understand more about the camel symbol of the Arab countries.

In the program, two students Dang Thi Diem Quynh and Le Hoang, who study at the Department of Arabic Language and Culture, gave a presentation on “The significance of camels in the life and culture of Saudi Arabian people”.

Throughout the program, visitors were introduced to Saudi Arabian culture through music, costumes and typical cuisine, thereby nurturing a passion for discovery, appreciation of cultural diversity and respect for differences.
