On October 11^th, 2019, ULIS-VNU held a festival to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Hangeulnal Korean alphabet and Quiz on Korea 2019 for Vietnamese students.

The event was attended by Vice President Lam Quang Dong, representatives of diplomatic agencies, partners, representatives of the university’s departments, management board and lecturers of Faculty of Korean Language & Culture.

Hangeulnal Festival 2019 is an annual event to commemorate the 573rd year of King Sejeong’s creation of the Korean alphabet. This is also a creative and interesting playground to connect Korean language learners all over the country and those who love Korean culture.

This year’s event took place under the theme “Hangeulnal opens to the world” hosted by ULIS-VNU with the support and sponsor of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam, Korea International Exchange Foundation, Korea International Cooperation Agency and other sponsors.

Delivering his speech at the event, Vice President Lam Quang Dong emphasized the significance of this festival and the prospect of developing Korean language training in Vietnam. The Vice President also said that ULIS would celebrate the 25th anniversary of teaching Korean language this year.

Hangeulnal Festival 2019 offered participants and visitors an opportunity to experience and explore Korean culture and language through many unique activities such as  watching art performances, enjoying a variety of delicious food, visiting cultural camps, painting exhibitions, talent contests and so on.

In addition to that, the “Quiz on Korea” contest was a useful playground for students. This is an international contest held for those who wish to learn about Korean language and culture. It is launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea and KBS (Korea).
