Opening ceremony of the 2020-2021 academic year for international students and foreign experts

On October 12th, 2020, ULIS – VNU held the opening ceremony of the 2020-2021 academic year for international students and foreign experts. The event was organized both in a physical hall and via Zoom application so that overseas students could attend.

Every year, ULIS receives about 300 international students from different countries (Japan, Korea, China, Ukraine, Russia, Germany and others) to study in various training programs such as full-time, graduate, exchange and short-term courses.

In the 2020-2021 academic year, ULIS – VNU offers training courses to 28 international students. Specifically, 10 new students enrolled in QH.2020 full-time courses, 5 students in Vietnamese foundation course and 13 students from previous courses. Besides, the University regularly welcomes international students to take short-term Vietnamese language courses.

Delivering his speech at the ceremony, Vice President Lam Quang Dong thanked the foreign students for choosing to study at ULIS. Although there may be still some difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Vice President believed that the 2020-2021 academic year would bring many interesting experiences and memories to international students and foreign experts.

In the opening program, the teachers and international students participated in many interesting activities such as performing arts, enjoying different cuisines, watching videos and so on.
