Opening Ceremony of the International Master’s Program – Cohort PG48
On June 10th, 2025, the University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS – VNU) held the Opening and Admission Ceremony for Cohort PG48 of the international Master’s program in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), a joint training program with Southern New Hampshire University (USA), at Sunwah Hall.

The ceremony was attended by Vice President Dr. Hà Lê Kim Anh, representatives of various departments, program coordinators, lecturers, and the newly admitted students of the PG48 cohort.
In her opening remarks, Vice President Hà Lê Kim Anh congratulated the new students on their admission and emphasized the significance of ULIS’s international joint Master’s program in the context of today’s global educational integration. She expressed her confidence that participating in this high-quality TESOL program in collaboration with Southern New Hampshire University will create more career opportunities for the students and respond to the increasing practical demands of language education in society.

At the ceremony, Dr. Trần Thị Thu Hiền, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, announced the official admission decisions for 47 students. The admitted students come from various provinces and cities across Vietnam, all with outstanding academic and professional backgrounds—highlighting the strong appeal and quality of ULIS’s international joint programs.

Representing the new students, Phan Hồng Nhung expressed her honor to be part of ULIS’s high-quality postgraduate program. With the support of the university, lecturers, and peers, she believes this 18-month learning journey will be both meaningful and inspiring.

The ceremony concluded with an orientation session introducing the program structure and addressing students’ questions, helping them gain a clear understanding of the academic roadmap ahead.
The event also provided a valuable opportunity for students to connect, share their expectations, and mark the beginning of a promising journey as members of Cohort PG48.
