Opening Ceremony of the Master’s Joint Training Program with Southern New Hampshire University – Cohort PG 49

On September 9, 2025, at the Sunwah Hall, the University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi, held the Opening Ceremony of the International Master’s Joint Training Program with Southern New Hampshire University (USA), Cohort PG 49 – majoring in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

Attending the ceremony, from the University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi, were Vice President Ha Le Kim Anh and representatives of the university’s departments. From Southern New Hampshire University, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung – the university’s representative in Vietnam – was present. The event also welcomed 54 new graduate students of Cohort PG 49.

In her opening remarks, Vice President Ha Le Kim Anh expressed pride in the 70-year history of building and development of the University of Languages and International Studies in the cause of foreign language education in Vietnam. She extended her congratulations to the students, emphasizing four key words – “exploration – connection – passion – perseverance” – as valuable opportunities of the program. She also expressed her confidence that the students will study diligently, promote the spirit of international cooperation, and make practical contributions to the development of the field in the context of global integration.

As part of the ceremony, Dr. Tran Thi Thu Hien, Dean of the Faculty of International Education, announced the official decision recognizing 54 admitted students. Dr. Tran Thi Thu Hien expressed her confidence in these outstanding individuals from across the country, while affirming that the joint Master’s program with Southern New Hampshire University promises to bring numerous career opportunities for students in an era when language education is increasingly valued in society.

On behalf of the new students and in her role as a member of the class committee of Cohort PG 49, student Bui Thi Phuong Chi expressed her sincere gratitude to the university and the lecturers for providing a prestigious international joint program that opens up many opportunities for learning and development. Speaking on behalf of her peers, Phuong Chi affirmed their determination to make continuous efforts to enrich their knowledge, enhance professional competence, and at the same time develop their personal careers while contributing to spreading the values of the joint program within the educational community.

The ceremony concluded with an overview of the program and a Q&A session. Through this, the new students gained a clearer understanding of the curriculum and were better prepared to embark on their studies. Overall, the opening ceremony not only helped the students become more familiar with the program but also created opportunities for exchange and connection, marking an inspiring beginning for their upcoming 18-month journey of learning and research.
