Opening the first course of Introductory Korean for ULIS’s staff and lecturers.

The opening ceremony of the 1st course of Introductory Korean, available to lecturers and staff of ULIS, started on the 19th, January, 2018 at room 801, building A2.

The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Tran Thi Huong – Dean of the Faculty of Korean language and culture/Director of Hanoi Sejong Center 2, Ms. Park Hwa Yeon – Teacher dispatched by Korea’s Sejong fund and trainees who are lecturers from departments, faculties and centers at ULIS.

The course lasts from January 19th to February 9th, including 10 lessons (3 lessons per week) . The curriculum is specifically designed with the participation of both Vietnamese and Korean teachers. Within 3 weeks, trainees will have fundamental knowledge about Korean, such as the alphabet, pronunciation, sentence, conversation, and especially, the lessons about Korean culture (experience of making Kimbap).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Tran Thi Huong – Dean of Faculty of Korean Language and Culture/Director of Hanoi Sejong center 2 extended her thanks to all learners for participating in the course. She said that the course was designed to meet the needs of studying Korean language of ULIS’s staff and lecturers, as well as to respond to its policy of encouraging self-improvement in terms of foreign language skills within the university.



Nearly 20 staff and lecturers registered for the first course. On the first class, Korean teacher Park Hwa Yeon introduced students to the vowels in Korean. The first lesson took place in an exciting atmosphere. The students were keen to get acquainted, read and write the first Korean vocabulary.
