Opening the Spanish course for ULIS staff and lecturers
On May 5th, 2018, the University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS – VNU) opened the Spanish course for its staff and lecturers.
The Spanish course for staff and lecturers is designed to promote the strategy of expanding and developing the foreign languages taught at ULIS in the period from 2018-2025 with the vision to 2035. This aims at creating opportunities for lecturers to study and interact with new languages and cultures, realizing ULIS’s plan of teaching Spanish as the second language from the academic year of 2018-2019 and moving toward opening this major in the future. This class is free and taught by native teachers of Complutense University of Madrid (Spain). After completing this course, students can sit for the examination to receive a certificate from level A1 to B2 (according to CEFR).
The Spanish course for ULIS’s staff and lecturers was registered by more than twenty teachers from various units of the university. Delivering his opening remark, Dr. Do Minh Hoang extended his sincere thanks to the teachers who supported this course as well as the plan of Spanish training development at ULIS. He hoped that teachers would have more fun when learning this new language.
As planned, after completing the course, staff and lecturers who crack the B2 level and expect to continue studying would be prioritized for scholarships to study Spanish in foreign universities and take the responsibility to establish Spanish major at ULIS. In the coming time, the university will continue to open other Spanish and Italian courses for its staff and lecturers.
