From July 4th – 7th, 2018, President Do Tuan Minh and Mr. Bui Dinh Thang, Deputy Director of the Cooperation and Development Office took part in the business trip to Japan to work at two universities, Saga University and West Kyushu University.

Specifically, on July 5th, 2018, the delegation participated in the discussion with President Miyazaki of Saga University, visited and worked with the Faculty of Economics, Saga University to discuss the cooperation between the two universities. At the meeting, President Minh emphasized that since the two universities signed a cooperation agreement, many ULIS students and teachers have been offered the opportunity to study at Saga University. In particular, among 40 teachers working at the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture, up to six teachers have graduated from this prestigious school. He hoped that the relationship between the two universities would be developed, especially through the cooperative activities between the Faculty of Economics of Saga University and the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture, the University of languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS – VNU). In response to the goodwill of President Minh, President Miyazaki stressed that he would visit Vietnam and ULIS at the end of this year. The President of Saga University also affirmed that he would create favorable conditions for the Faculty of Economics, Saga University to cooperate in many aspects with ULIS– VNU, especially in developing the joint training program between the two universities.

At Saga, President Minh also had a meeting with leaders and staff of the Faculty of Economics, Saga University. Representatives of the Faculty of Economics presented about their strengths as well as international cooperation programs and expressed their expectations to cooperate with ULIS – VNU in the exchange of students and organization of international seminars. Notably, the two sides agreed to discuss the possibility of joint training between the Faculty of Economics, Saga University and the Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture, ULIS – VNU.


On July 6th, 2018, the delegation participated in the discussion with President Fukumoto of West Kyushu University. President Do Tuan Minh also presented before students of West Kyushu University. This is the activity marking the cooperation between the two universities in many fields in the coming time.




Based on these meetings, ULIS and Saga University, West Kyushu University will carry out many cooperative activities in the coming time.
