On December 13th, 2023, Prof. Peng Liyuan, spouse of General Secretary of the Communist Party and State President of People’s Republic of China and Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Tam, spouse of State President of Socialist Republic of Vietnam visited VNU and interacted with students here. Participating in the exchange program, ULIS students impressed the two spouses with their Chinese speaking ability and artistic talent through unique musical performances.

At the exchange, ULIS students shared and expressed their interest in Chinese language, culture, cinema, costumes, and the friendship between Vietnam and China through cultural exchange, academic cooperation and mutual visits, etc.

Prof. Peng Liyuan expressed her impression of the Chinese speaking ability of the students.

She also emphasized that in the context that China and Vietnam are promoting increasingly practical and effective cooperation, young people and students played an important role. She hoped that the two sides would have many opportunities to exchange and cooperate with each other so that the young generation can thrive.
