Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of Thailand to Vietnam gives a lecture at ULIS

On November 7th, 2019, ULIS students listened to a lecture of Mr. Tanee Sangrat, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam. The lecture themed “The role of Thailand in the integration process of Southeast Asia” is part of the Understanding Asian Community course.

 

The lecture was attended by Ms. Natcha Buddhinandana – First Secretary of the Embassy of Thailand, PhD. Chu Thi Bich – Head of the Division of Vietnamese Language & Culture, MSc. Nguyen Thi Van Chi – Head of the Division of Southeast Asia Linguitics  and Cultures.  

 

During the session, the Ambassador introduced the formation of cooperative organizations in the region and around the world and the context of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations). In particular, he was delighted to congratulate Vietnam on the occasion that Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received the ASEAN Chairmanship from Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chanocha.

 

After that, the Thai Ambassador shared about Thailand’s development in recent years, the strengthening of international cooperation and Thailand’s influence in the integration process of Southeast Asia. In particular, he emphasized the increasingly strong Thailand-Vietnam cooperation in political, economic and cultural affairs.

The lecture with The Ambassador brought a lot of interesting knowledge about ASEAN and Thailand to ULIS students.
