The “Reading Culture Ambassador 2025” Award Ceremony and the Seminar on “Reading and Chilling with Foreign Language Learning”
On November 6, 2025, the University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS-VNU) held the Award Ceremony for the “Reading Culture Ambassador 2025” contest and the seminar “Reading and Chilling in Language Learning”. The event aimed to promote the love of reading among students and to affirm the enduring value of reading culture in modern life.

The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Quang Dong – Vice President of ULIS, representatives of various departments, along with a large number of teachers, students, and pupils who share a passion for reading.

In his opening remarks, Vice President Lam Quang Dong highly appreciated the efforts of the Organizing Committee and the enthusiastic participation of ULIS students in the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest. Thanks to these efforts, the university has achieved remarkable results at the university, VNU, and national levels. He also expressed his belief that regular seminars like this one would help students broaden their knowledge and enrich their spiritual values in support of learning and research.

The program continued with the Award Ceremony for the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2025. After eight months of launching and implementation, the contest received enthusiastic responses with 2,073 submissions. Through a rigorous selection process, the Organizing Committee honored 30 outstanding entries at the ceremony, with awards including 3 Ambassador Prizes, 3 First Prizes, 6 Second Prizes, 9 Third Prizes, and 9 Potential Prizes.
The Ambassador Titles of this year’s contest were awarded to Do Thi Thu Trang, Dang Nguyen Diem My, and Nguyen Lam Giang.





During the seminar session, Dr. Chu Phong Lan – Lecturer at the Faculty of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Languages and Cultures, ULIS-VNU – shared her favorite books as well as insights on nurturing a personal passion for reading. Dr. Lan emphasized that reading helps individuals explore multiple dimensions of thinking, broaden their worldview, and foster self-development. She also provided practical advice on choosing appropriate reading materials and developing effective reading habits. The recommended genres included novels, self-learning books, and literary works with profound messages that help cultivate character, enhance knowledge, and develop life skills.

The event’s atmosphere became even more vibrant with an interactive Q&A session and a book-themed quiz game. Meaningful gifts were presented to participants with outstanding answers, contributing to the spread of reading enthusiasm and the promotion of reading culture within the academic community.







The program concluded with a photo session, marking a memorable end to an engaging and meaningful event. The seminar not only served as an enriching intellectual playground but also offered an opportunity for students to deeply recognize the immense value of reading, inspiring a lasting love for books and a spirit of continuous learning.
