ULIS Korea Day 2025 – A Vibrant Korean Cultural Festival Connecting Generations of Students and Alumni

On November 28, 2025, the ULIS Korea Day 2025 took place at the University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi. This annual event featured a variety of activities, ranging from performing arts and theatrical showcases to multi-generation K-ULISer exchanges, helping to promote Korean cultural identity within the ULIS community.

The event was attended by the Board of Management, staff, lecturers, students, and alumni of the Faculty of Korean Language & Culture. It was also honored to welcome representatives from various governmental agencies, universities, research institutes, and partner enterprises involved in Korean language and culture education and cooperation.

The program commenced with vibrant opening performances by the K-ART Art Club and student groups from the Faculty of Korean Studies. These performances, blending traditional and contemporary elements, created a lively atmosphere and offered the audience both an appreciation of cultural aesthetics and the youthful energy characteristic of ULIS students.

Following the impressive opening performances, the program continued with the “Theatrical Showcase” featuring short dramatic pieces presented by student groups from the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture. This activity not only fostered stronger cohesion within the classes but also highlighted the students’ creativity and dedicated efforts to bring distinctive artistic expressions to the stage. The audience was taken on an emotional journey, moving from moments of laughter to scenes of quiet reflection.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Tran Thi Huong – Dean of the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture – expressed her deep gratitude to the University leadership and all partners whose support has helped establish ULIS Korea Day as one of the university’s most prominent annual events, as well as a significant activity within the broader landscape of Korean cultural promotion in Vietnam.

Dr. Tran Thi Huong affirmed that the continuous support from partners, sponsors, and alumni serves as a tremendous source of encouragement for the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture to keep moving forward. She also expressed her hope to maintain long-term collaborative relationships in upcoming activities and initiatives.

The program continued with a session honoring agencies, organizations, and enterprises that have supported students in various academic and cultural activities. The certificate and token-of-appreciation ceremony was conducted in a formal manner, expressing the Faculty’s gratitude for the consistent support provided by its partners. At the same time, valuable scholarships were awarded to students of the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture who demonstrated outstanding academic performance and remarkable engagement in extracurricular activities, thereby encouraging and motivating the next generation of learners.

One of the highlights of ULIS Korea Day 2025 was the interaction session between current students and alumni of the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture. The activity took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, offering an opportunity for different generations of K-ULISers to connect, share experiences, and create memorable moments together.

Interactive games, quick Q&A segments, and musical exchanges brought vibrancy and cohesion to the event. Notably, the choral performance by the faculty members and staff created a heartfelt moment that left a lasting impression on all attendees.

Concluding the festival was a special performance by guest artists Bon Nghiem and 14 Casper. Their appearance brought emotional depth to the program, turning the evening into a fulfilling musical experience with heartfelt renditions of their hits “Mot doi” and “Bao tien mot mo binh yen?”

ULIS Korea Day 2025 concluded with a series of memorable moments – from vibrant performances to warm intergenerational exchanges. The event was not only a cultural celebration but also a meaningful bridge connecting students, alumni, and faculty members, reaffirming the sustainable development of the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture in both training and collaboration. The values fostered through this event continue to contribute to building an enriching, experiential, and creative learning environment for ULIS students.
