ULIS Launches “ULIS Students Innovate with AI 2025” Contest: Empowering Creativity, Leading the Digital Future

On June 16th, 2025, the University of Languages and International Studies ULIS – VNU officially launched the “ULIS Students Innovate with AI 2025” contest in a hybrid format, combining both in-person and online participation.

The event was attended by a Chairman of the University Council Do Tuan Minh, Vice Presidents Ha Le Kim Anh and Hoa Ngoc Son, members of the contest organizing committee, the Digital Transformation Steering Committee, ULIS IT Club, and around 200 students who had registered for the contest.

In his opening remarks, Chairman Do Tuan Minh expressed that with just over a week until the national high school graduation exam, ULIS was excited to welcome a new cohort of students. Upon admission, these freshmen would participate in a special course on applying artificial intelligence in learning—designed entirely by their senior peers. This initiative reflected the very spirit of the contest: empowering students to innovate, promoting digital learning, and fostering a community of proactive, creative learners.

The contest invites students to design AI-related courses that are accessible, effective, and tailored for non-technical users. The best ideas will be implemented as part of the official orientation program for incoming QH.2025 students—contributing to the ULIS Star series of activities.

During the launch, participants were briefed on the contest’s objectives, course design steps, and various AI tools such as ChatGPT, Grammarly, DeepL, and Quillbot…. The competition encourages students to align their course content with UNESCO’s AI Competency Framework for learners while ensuring accessibility for non-technical audiences.

The event sparked enthusiasm and creative energy, reaffirming the pioneering role of ULIS students in shaping a responsible, modern, and innovative learning environment in the era of artificial intelligence.
