On September 9^th, 2019, ULIS-VNU solemnly held the opening ceremony of the 2019-2020 academic year. The ceremony took place in a lively and intimate atmosphere with many renovations compared to the previous years.

The ceremony was attended by President Do Tuan Minh, Vice President Ngo Minh Thuy, Vice President Nguyen Xuan Long, representatives of the departments, staff, lecturers and more than 2000 students.

At the ceremony, President Do Tuan Minh extended a warm welcome to 1,845 new students of the QH.2019.F1 cohort, including students of fast-track, mainstream and international partnership programs. He also presented scholarships to valedictorians of the training majors in the 2019 enrollment.

Representing the whole QH.2019.F1 cohort Ms. Vo Thi Huong – Valedictorian of the Chinese Language and Culture major expressed her excitement when becoming a ULISer.

Besides, President Do Tuan Minh presented scholarships to the valedictorians of the training disciplines in the 2019 enrollment.

Besides, Vice President Ngo Minh Thuy, on behalf of the University, awarded certificates of merit and rewards to 15 students of QH.2018 fast-track programs who had acquired outstanding achievements in study and practice.

After that, Vice President Nguyen Xuan Long bestowed certificates of merit and rewards to 16 students of standard training programs and 12 students of international partnership programs.

The opening ceremony ended with a vibrant flashmob dance performance on the background of the song “Ve day mai truong”.
