ULIS successfully hosted the 21st Academic Forum on English Language Testing in Asia
On October 19th – 20th, 2019, ULIS – VNU hosted the 21st Academic Forum on English Language Testing in Asia (AFELTA).
AFELTA is an international academic forum for testing of 9 major testing centers of 7 Asian countries including China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam and Singapore. The forum is held annually, attracting the participation of leading researchers in the world and members of the above mentioned testing centers.
The 21st AFELTA in 2019, hosted by ULIS – VNU, as an AFELTA official member in Vietnam, was organized immediately after the 6th AALA conference on October 16th -18th, 2019.
The conference was attended by Vice President Lam Quang Dong, Director Board of the Center for Language Testing & Assessment, foreign experts and delegates.
Addressing the Forum, Vice President Lam Quang Dong extended his greetings to all of the participants. Highlighting the significance of the Forum in improving the testing and assessment capabilities in Asia, he expected that the Forum would not only deliver on real values in the field of assessment but also be a place connecting scholars all over Asia.
The Forum featured 3 keynote speeches and 15 papers from 9 countries.
All of the speakers were very active in presenting their knowledge and passion on language testing and assessment. At the same time, the delegates enthusiastically contributed ideas and comments to the speakers and suggested orientations for the development of testing activities in the region.
