ULIS Summer Course 2019 for Francophonie students organized

On July 11th -17th, 2019, ULIS-VNU and Francophonie University Association (AUF) organized the “ULIS Summer Course 2019” with the participation of 45 French-speaking students from 6 Asian countries, including Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Korea, Thailand and Vietnam.

“Summer Course” (Université d’été) is an annual program initiated by AUF and organized by member schools. The program is held for students of Francophonie universities or faculties that are members of AUF.

Delivering her speech at the opening ceremony on July 12th, Vice President Ngo Minh Thuy said “The theme of ULIS Summer Course 2019 for Francophonie students is “National identities and identities of French-speaking youth in the fourth industrial revolution.”. “Identities” used in the plural form is symbolic of 88 member countries and shows the cultural diversity in the Francophonie community. ULIS Summer Course 2019 organized at ULIS is a great opportunity for students in the region to explore the capital of Hanoi, especially cultural legacies of France and other countries in this beautiful city.”

ULIS Summer Course 2019 will provide a cultural exchange space for students of the Faculty of French Language & Culture and students of other French-language training institutions in the area, so that they can improve their French skills, learn about the difference in cultures in the French community, thereby improving intercultural communication skills. In addition, the students participating in the program will implement joint projects to apply the achievements of industry 4.0 to honor and promote countries in the region.

Within a week, international students participated in many interesting activities from seminars with interesting topics to field trips to discover famous cultural and historical places in Hanoi.
