The project of building a Vietnam Village in Korea receives support from ULIS
The University is ready to help Bonghwa District in activities related to the project as well as to develop cooperation with the District.
On November 1st, 2018, Vice President Lam Quang Dong and Deputy Head of the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture Nguyen Thuy Duong had a meeting with the delegation of from Bonghwa district (South Korea) headed by Bonghwa District Chair – Mr. Um Tae-hang. Among the 12 members of the delegation were descendants of the Vietnam’s Ly dynasty who migrated to Korea several centuries ago.
During the meeting, the project of building a Vietnamese village in Bonghwa district, Gyeongbuk-do province (South Korea) was discussed. The District is the only place in Korea with heritage of the Ly dynasty of Vietnam.
Delivering his remark at the meeting, Vice President Lam Quang Dong thanked the delegation of Bonghwa district for visiting and trusting the University. He highly appreciated the historical and cultural significance of the project and hoped that the project would mark a special development in the cooperation between Vietnam and Korea.
The project will be implemented in 5 years (2020 to 2024), including a Vietnam historical park; a Korea – Vietnam memorial road; and a Vietnam village.
ULIS will support the project through promotional activities and other related support.
