ULIS Youth Union receives the Third-class Labor Order
On March 29, 2026, at Nguyen Van Dao Hall, the University of Languages and International Studies – VNU, Hanoi (ULIS-VNU) solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – March 26, 2026) and to receive the Third-class Labor Order.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Lam Tung – Member of the Executive Committee of the Central Youth Union, Deputy Director of the Department of Children and Youth Affairs, Standing Vice President of the Vietnamese Students’ Association; Mr. Nguyen Thai Toai, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of the Ministry of Education and Training; Mr. Dao Duc Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union, Chairman of the Inspection Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi Young Pioneer Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong, Vice President of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU).
The program also saw the participation of representatives from the VNU Youth Union, partner units’ Youth Unions, leaders of various departments within the University, former Deputy Secretaries, members of the Standing Committee and Executive Committee of the Youth Union through different periods, along with staff, Youth Union members, pupils, and students of the University.
The year 2026 marks the 95-year milestone of the formation and development of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union – the socio-political organization of Vietnamese youth, the revolutionary shock force, and the reliable reserve force of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Throughout different periods, Vietnamese youth have continuously affirmed their pioneering role in combat, national construction, and protection, as well as in the cause of innovation, integration, and national development.
Upholding that tradition, generations of Youth Union members at the University of Languages and International Studies – VNU have always been proud, responsible, and active in contributing to Youth Union work and youth movements. Throughout the 70-year history of the University’s construction and development, the University’s Youth Union has constantly affirmed its role and mission, contributing to the training of many outstanding members. With these efforts, the ULIS Youth Union was honored to receive many prestigious awards, especially the Third-class Labor Order. This is a great honor and pride for generations of officials and Youth Union members of the University.
At the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong, Vice President of VNU, presented the Third-class Labor Order to the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the University of Languages and International Studies – VNU.


In his keynote speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong emphasized that being awarded the Third-class Labor Order by the President of the State is a worthy recognition for the persistent and creative efforts of many generations of Youth Union officials and members. The achievements of the Youth Union also clearly reflect the unique strengths and characteristics of ULIS. VNU believes and expects that the youth of ULIS will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, pioneering bravery, and creative aspirations, inheriting fine traditional values to contribute to the development of VNU and the country. ULIS youth should continue to be a leading flag in Youth Union work and youth movements. VNU always devotes attention and resources to accompany and create favorable conditions for the Youth Union’s activities to grow even stronger in the future.

During the ceremony, the University expressed gratitude to former Youth Union leaders; awarded the “Excellent Youth Union Branch” title to 11 collectives and the “Excellent Youth Union Branch Secretary” title to 30 individuals. 61 “Uoc Mo Xanh” (Green Dream) scholarships with a total value of 149 million VND were awarded to 61 pupils and students in difficult circumstances. At the same time, the University recognized and thanked individuals and collectives who have accompanied the digital space project “ULIS Youth Journey” and the “Uoc Mo Xanh” scholarship fund.




The ceremony concluded in a solemn and warm atmosphere with a commemorative photo session and interaction between generations of officials, members, and students. This event was not only an occasion to look back on the glorious 95-year journey of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union but also an important milestone, creating motivation for ULIS youth to continue writing glorious traditions and contributing actively to the University’s development.
