On November 10^th, 2023, at Sunwah Hall, the Conference “Teaching English for Specific Purposes: Perspectives, Policies and Practices” took place. As an activity within the framework of UNC2024, the conference was organized with the goal of creating a forum to discuss issues surrounding English teaching, thereby providing suggestions and recommendations on innovating teaching methods.

Delivering his speech at the opening ceremony, Vice President of VNU International University Nguyen Van Dinh hoped that the conference could create a forum for participating lecturers to share knowledge, experiences and together build a community to improve foreign language teaching.

Mr. To Trung Thanh, representative of the National Economics University, discussed the use of English for Specific purposes.

ULIS Vice President Lam Quang Dong extended his thanks to the two co-organizers and expressed his expectations for the rich contributions of the presenters and participants at the conference.

At the plenary session, Mr. Shin Yong Sun – the keynote speaker gave a presentation on “Evaluating specialized English in university English programs”.

After that, the participants were divided into 4 parallel sessions to present and discuss issues related to innovative teaching methods, applying theory to practice and applying technology to English translation.
