Vietnamese Students and Student Affairs’ Day – A big celebration in University of Languages and International Studies (ULIS) – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU)

On January 17th morning, 2018 at Vu Dinh Lien Hall, The Compound of French faculty, ULIS-VNU Student Affair organized 68th Vietnamese Students and Student Affairs’ Day Anniversary (09/01/1950 – 09/01/2018).

68th Vietnamese Students and Student Affairs’ Day Anniversary was held successfully, which accomplished the aim of this celebration: executing work plan of  Student Affair and students’ activities in 2017-2018 academic year; 68th Vietnamese Students and Student Affairs’ Day Anniversary, celebrating Foundation Day of the Communist Party of Vietnam ; promoting activities for positive effect of students as well as ULIS, endorsing “Youth Strength of ULIS, Pride in ULIS”.

The ceremony was honored to have the attendance of Mr. Nguyen Tien Phuc – on behalf of Hanoi Union – Student’s Association Board, Ms. Hua Thanh Hoa – The vice chairman of VNU Student Affairs along with active members of Youth Union, ULIS Student Affairs, clubs and some interested students.

Ms. Pham Thi Hong Van – the President of ULIS Student Affairs delivered the opening speech to inaugurate the 68th Vietnamese Students and Student Affairs’ Day Anniversary Meeting. Thanks to School-board, ULIS students inherit and develop young generations’ proud traditions, exert themselves to achieve fruitful success regarding academic performances as well as social activities. At the meeting, individuals with great achievement in the first semester of 2017-2018 were awarded certificate for their contribution to ULIS Student Affairs, which would be the recognition and motivation needed for students to work harder. Moreover, ULIS Student Affairs awarded 15 “Green Dreams” scholarships to disadvantaged students and launched “My Beloved Club” competition.

Next on the ceremony was the program “ Volunteer Skills Training Program” for important members of the clubs. Students who took part in the program not only were trained in vonlunteers’ manners, what reminders and cautions volunteers should keep in mind in events, and ability to handle situations; but they also got the sharings of experience from volunteers of international events.

An integral part of the program is Club Musical Festival 2018 with interesting and exciting performances from clubs, such as elaborately staged plays, which brought the audience laughter and meaningful messages. Remarkably, Arts Club AC4U’s excellent performance won the first prize.

The ceremony, which celebrated the traditional day of students and Vietnamese Students’ Association left a good impression. Simultaneously, the ceremony has not only promoted students’ activities, made a contribution to enhancing the value of students and providing an environment in which students strive to achieve the title “Students with 5 good characteristics” but also created a healthy play-field and an exchange opportunity between the clubs in school.
