Wang Mei – Chinese international student with a passion for Korean
ULIS-VNU is known as one of the leading language teaching and training universities in Vietnam. Therefore, with a passion for Korean from an early age, Wang Mei – a student of class 22K8, Faculty of Korean Language and Culture, chose ULIS as a youth destination for her student life.
Please share about the fate that brought you to ULIS?
It can be said that studying abroad was never my dream when I was young. However, as I grew up, I realized that studying abroad was a great opportunity to expand my horizons, learn and develop myself.
While learning more about universities, I learned about ULIS-VNU. Introduced as one of the leading language teaching and training universities in Vietnam, I firmly believe that this would be a place that would not only help me improve my language skills but also expand my understanding of culture and history of this country.
What are your feelings about Vietnamese people, teachers, and friends at school?
As an international student from China, I encountered many difficulties when I first enrolled at ULIS. I was extremely worried that the language gap would become a barrier in communicating with friends and teachers at school. But with the enthusiasm and thoughtfulness of friends and teachers, these worries seem to gradually disappear. I feel more comfortable and easier to adapt to Vietnamese culture. Furthermore, the school’s facilities are also modern, comfortable.
After a period of studying at ULIS, what impressed you the most?
Perhaps, ULIS has left me with many deep impressions. Here, I not only have the opportunity to communicate and participate in extracurricular activities with friends, but I can also gain a deeper understanding of the traditional values and lifestyle of Vietnamese people.
In addition, the learning environment here is also one of the things that impresses me the most. The teachers in the Faculty always try their best to create favorable conditions for students to both learn theory and master skills when using Korean.
In your opinion, how will studying at ULIS help you in your career path ahead?
For me, the study program at ULIS will help me develop cross-cultural communication skills, practice critical thinking as well as teamwork skills. From there, with the knowledge and experience I have gained at ULIS, I will be able to build a solid foundation to find a future career in fields such as translation, education or foreign exchange. deliver.
I wonder what your plans are in the near future?
In the near future, I am planning to take the TOPIK 6 exam, so I have to try and work hard to achieve the best results. Furthermore, I also need to try to cultivate and improve my Vietnamese skills so that I can be more confident when communicating with friends. Hopefully I can do it!
