From 25th to 31st July 2017, a delegation from University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS – VNU) had a business trip at Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages (Chinese Taipei). This is an activity included in the co-operation agreement between the two universities with a view to professionally training the leaders and also a chance to foster the close relationship between the two sides. ULIS’s delegation headed by Dr. Nguyen Xuan Long – ULIS’s Vice President came to Chinese Taipei with 16 members.

On July 26th 2017, Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages held a reception for ULIS’s delegation at the International Conference Room. The meeting was attended by President Chou Shieu-ming, Vice presidents and Heads of different departments in Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages.

In the meeting, President Chou Shieu-ming expressed her happiness because after over 10 years of developing cooperation relationship, Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages officially opened a representative office at ULIS on 19th of March, 2017. The university was honored to welcome 16 leaders of ULIS to Wenzao to take part in this training course.

She also believed that through the exchange, interaction and mutual learning between the two sides in terms of organization, finance, training, students affairs, science and technology, information technology, teacher development and so forth, the course would gain positive results, open up many opportunities for cooperation and be a premise for the long-term cooperation between the two universities.

In response to these valuable sentiments, ULIS’s Vice-President Nguyen Xuan Long extended his sincere thanks for the warm welcome from Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages, the only university in Chinese, Taipei with the more than 50-year history of establishment and development.

He also confirmed that this business trip was a very important and meaningful activity to strengthen the mutual understanding between two sides. Visits, regular exchange and cooperation between the two universities in this year and this visit is the most obvious evidence for such a good cooperation.


During the following days, the delegation of ULIS had many professional training activities such as studying Distance education model and Online University Program, working with Foreign Language Assessment Center, studying at the partner institutions, … Thereby, the members in ULIS’s delegation had an opportunity to raise their knowledge about Chinese Taipei’s advanced education, processes, methods and quality in the field of training and related supporting activities of its partner. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for leaders of the two universities to learn, practice and improve professional and managerial skills in order to apply them in their work later.

In addition to the training activities, the delegation also had some activities such as visiting Taipei and Kaohsiung to study about the culture and people of Chinese Taipei.

The members of the delegation expressed their happiness to have learned a lot from the education of Chinese Taipei. Through this trip, the cooperative relationship between University of Languages and International Studies and Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages will definitely become increasingly stronger.
