On March 13th, 2024, ULIS – VNU held a briefing on tasks of the first quarter in 2024. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Long, ULIS President chaired the briefing. The briefing was also attended by Chairman of the Trade Union, Secretary of the Youth Union, representatives of departments of the University.

At the meeting, President Nguyen Xuan Long presented special awards to outstanding individuals and collectives including students of the University in the past quarter.

Delivering his speech at the briefing, President Nguyen Xuan Long highly appreciated the efforts of all the departments in completing their tasks in the first quarter of 2024 with outstanding achievements.

Reports on the performance in the first quarter of 2024 and the plan for the second quarter of 2024 and reports on the implementation of working and training regulations were delivered at the briefing.

Prominent results in the first quarter of 2024:

1. Piloted implementation of teaching 11 undergraduate and graduate courses in the blended mode; developed communication and counselling plans for student admission and entrance exams at all levels; prepared for the quality accreditation of UMS;

2. Organized pre-UNC2024 events and made detailed plans for UNC2024; adjusted the Plan to increase investment in developing potential and encouraging science and technology activities at ULIS;

3. Implemented the Project “Building a system of solutions to retain and attract highly qualified lecturers at ULIS-VNU” and the pilot project of autonomy in regular expenditures of FLSS;

4. Successfully organized the cultural event “ULIS Spring Festival 2024”; Job Fair 2024 (January 20th, 2024); ensured security and order, prevented fire and explosion; took practical care of the material and spiritual life of the School’s officials, employees, and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024.

Crucial tasks in the second quarter of 2024:

1. To strengthen communications for successful enrollment of sufficient students with good quality at all levels;

2. To successfully organize UNC2024 (On April 20^th, 2024); FIRE DAY and 2024 Start-up Fire Ideas competition;

3. To conduct quality accreditation of UMS; complete a draft self-assessment report on the master’s training program in English Theory and Teaching Methods; effectively organize a pilot assessment of the Digital Competency Framework for 3 target groups at ULIS;

4.To launch and operate the Educational Support Channel for General Foreign Language Teachers (ULIS CONNECT); complete the Project to connect scholars and employers at ULIS-VNU;

5. To put Block A5 into effective use and operation; carry out renovation, repair and upgrade of Block B2; complete the design of the School’s cultural and educational experience learning area in Hoa Lac.
