Class Monitor Training Program: “Creative Youth – Proactive Leaders” for the 2025-2026 academic year
On November 2, 2025, the University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS-VNU), organized the Class Monitor Training Program: “Creative Youth – Proactive Leaders” for the 2025-2026 academic year. The program was attended by approximately 100 students serving as class monitors for the QH.2025.F1 cohort.

Attending the program was Vice President Ha Le Kim Anh; representatives from the leadership and specialists from the Office of Academic and Student Affairs, faculty members, guest speakers, and notably, the approximately 100 class monitors from the QH.2025.F1 cohort.

The program served not only as a training session but also as an opportunity to strengthen the connection between the University administration, faculty, and the team of class monitors, who play a pivotal role in fostering a positive academic and student life environment. This activity aimed to understand the perspectives and aspirations of the class monitors, while simultaneously enhancing their roles and responsibilities in class management and contributing to a strong campus community.

In the current global context, “leaders” must be able to position themselves, define their goals, and recognize the landscape. In this spirit, during the morning session, the class monitors participated in the main activity titled “Future Orientation – Leading Change”. Through this activity, they explored their inner potential and the qualities needed to become a “Pacesetter”—one who accompanies and inspires their team. They identified values to build their class culture and learned about the core values of ULIS-VNU, aiming to connect and transform regional and global challenges into opportunities. In the afternoon, the students embarked on a new journey filled with energy and inspiration. If the morning session helped them better understand the role of a leader, the afternoon was a time for each individual to engage wholeheartedly, unleash their creativity, and connect with one another in a spirit of teamwork.

The training kicked off with a vibrant icebreaker, fostering a sense of connection through a game called “Speed Dating”. Following this, the students joined together to form a “unity circle”, symbolizing solidarity and enthusiasm. This activity significantly boosted morale and energized all the participating students.

The program continued with an engaging activity titled “Navigating the Future – Leading Challenges”. This provided an opportunity for the class monitors to explore their inner potential and the qualities needed to become a “Pacesetter”—one who accompanies and inspires their team. Each group was provided with A4 paper and colored pens to collectively create meaningful drawings, symbolizing the role and personality of a class monitor.

During the program, students also engaged in various games and team-building activities, such as ‘Rhombus Jump’, ‘Zombie,’ and ‘Destination.’ These activities encouraged them to observe, reflect, and understand their roles, identify their strengths and weaknesses in leadership, and learn about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Through the “Interactive Theater” activity, the students scripted and performed their own short plays, conveying messages of companionship, creativity, and the responsibility of youth within the community. The rounds of applause, laughter, and even moments of emotional silence created a truly fulfilling and memorable conclusion to the entire day of learning.

The training session concluded with an emotional wrap-up, where groups shared their lessons learned, reflections, and commitments to their roles. The “Victory Song” activity ended the program in a highly inspired atmosphere.
