Closing Ceremony of the 2025 Korean Language Teacher Training Program
On January 8, 2026, the University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS – VNU) held the Closing Ceremony of the 2025 Korean Language Teacher Training Program. The program was jointly implemented by the University and the Korean Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City (an agency under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam).

Attending the ceremony were Dr. Hoa Ngoc Son, Vice President of the University; representatives of relevant units; the Board of Deans and lecturers of the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture. From the partner side, the event welcomed Mr. Ahn Hee Chul, Director of the Korean Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City, and Mr. Kim Hyun-dong, Director of the Representative Office of the National Institute for International Education (NIIED), Republic of Korea, in Vietnam. The ceremony was also attended by lecturers involved in the program and 34 trainees participating in the course.


In her opening remarks, Dr. Tran Thi Huong, Dean of the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture, congratulated all 34 trainees on successfully completing the program. Highly appreciating the efforts of the trainees, Dr. Tran Thi Huong expressed her sincere thanks to the Korean Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City for its strong support in successfully organizing the fifth Korean language teacher training program at ULIS – VNU. Over the past five years, approximately 230 trainees have completed the program and are currently making active contributions to the development of Korean language teaching at primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary schools across Vietnam.
“For the trainees of Cohort 5, I hope that you will continue to make efforts and further develop your professional expertise to make practical contributions to Korean language teaching at general education schools in Hanoi and neighboring areas. At the same time, I hope that you will remain actively engaged in the national network of Korean language teachers, especially the Network of Korean Language Teachers at the General Education Level coordinated by ULIS – VNU, in order to accompany future training programs, professional development activities, and diverse academic initiatives,” Dr. Tran Thi Huong shared.

Subsequently, representing the Korean Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Director Ahn Hee Chul expressed his appreciation to ULIS – VNU for its support in successfully organizing the training program. He also affirmed that the Korean Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City, as a representative agency of the Government of the Republic of Korea, will continue to closely cooperate with ULIS – VNU in supporting the University’s Korean language education activities in the coming time.

On behalf of the University Leadership, Dr. Hoa Ngoc Son, Vice President of ULIS – VNU, extended his congratulations and commendation to all lecturers and trainees for their active and dedicated efforts in completing the Korean Language Teacher Training Program for both in-service teachers and those aspiring to become Korean language teachers at general education schools in Northern Vietnam. He expressed his belief that the knowledge gained during the program would serve as a solid foundation for the trainees’ professional development and would be effectively applied in their teaching practice at their respective institutions, thereby contributing to the advancement of Korean language education at the general education level in Vietnam.

At the ceremony, lecturers and trainees revisited the journey of the training program through a heartfelt video presentation. Following that, representatives of the two institutions presented flowers and certificates of completion to the 34 trainees.


Representing the trainees, Trinh Hieu Linh delivered a reflection speech. Throughout the course, the trainees not only systematized their knowledge and accessed advanced teaching methodologies but also demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and perseverance in overcoming difficulties to fully participate in the program. Upon completion, Trinh Hieu Linh expressed her gratitude to the organizing institutions and lecturers, and committed to effectively applying the acquired knowledge in her teaching practice.
