On July 5th 2018, the University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS – VNU) solemnly held the ceremony of school-year ending and awarding the full-time Bachelor degrees in foreign languages in 2018 for QH.2014.F1 students at Nguyen Van Dao Hall, VNU.

Making her opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Minh Thuy, ULIS’s Vice President extended her congratulations to 807 new graduates. She said: “in the recent years, in keeping pace with the country’s integration, foreign language education plays an increasingly important role in the society. In that context, ULIS – VNU is extremely proud of making a significant contribution to training internationally-recognized human resources. With a long tradition as well as high reputation in foreign language training, ULIS – VNU has continually innovated, expanded and improved the quality of training programs, created many cooperation programs with domestic and international partners, government ministries of Vietnam, government agencies of other countries, employers and enterprises. Therefore, many students have received scholarships or participated in study and internship programs domestically and internationally. They are equipped with many skills before graduation and are highly evaluated by employers”.

Vice President Ngo Minh Thuy emphasized that 76% of ULIS students were employed right after their graduation; 96% of students got jobs with high incomes one year after their graduation.

This event is not only a festival of ULIS, but also a milestone marking a four-year pathway that QH.2014.F1 students have gone through. In this pathway, they have completed the training programs; many of them have demonstrated their excellence in different fields such as education, training and scientific research…

This time, ULIS – VNU awarded degrees to 807 new graduates (Division of Arabic Language and Culture: 15 new graduates; Faculty of Russian Language and Culture: 11 new graduates; Faculty of Korean Language and Culture: 80 new graduates; Faculty of French Language and Culture: 87 new graduates; Faculty of German Language and Culture: 46 new graduates; Faculty of Japanese Language and Culture: 111 new graduates; Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture: 112 new graduates; Faculty of English Language Teacher Education: 345 new graduates).

QH2014.F1 intake has 56 students (6.96%) graduated with distinction degree, 330 students (43,6%) with very good degree and 406 students with good degree. The valedictorian of the whole university is Nguyen Tran Tram Anh, a student of the honour program of the Faculty of English Language Teacher Education. QH.2014 is also an impressive intake when 76% of the students are employed before their graduation and there are excellent students who meet the high requirements of the society.
