Lively atmosphere at the 13th “Understanding Asian communities” presentation contest

On December 17, 2025, ULIS organized the 13th Presentation contest on “Understanding Asian communities” for the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year. The contest is an integral part of the course Understanding Asian communities, taught by the Faculty of Vietnamese & Southeast Asian Language and Culture.

The event was attended by Mr. Tran Huu Tri, Head of the Faculty of Vietnamese & Southeast Asian Language and Culture; Ms. Le An Na, CEO and Founder of the Vietnam Academy of Etiquette and Protocol (PAVI); representatives of relevant units; members of the judging panel; lecturers; and a large number of interested students.

Before the official program began, the atmosphere in the auditorium was energized by a series of impressive and engaging cultural performances, which attracted attention and created a positive first impression on the audience.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Tran Huu Tri expressed his deep emotion and pride as the “Understanding Asian communities” Presentation contest reached its 13th edition. He emphasized that through the course and the contest, students not only gain access to a meaningful academic platform but also have valuable opportunities to conduct research, systematize knowledge, and produce practical learning outcomes that are highly recognized and appreciated by ULIS. On this occasion, he extended his sincere gratitude to the students, faculty members, and both domestic and international speakers for their continued interest, support, and contributions, which have played a crucial role in ensuring the success and lasting impact of both the course and the contest.

Continuing the program, on behalf of the judging panel, Ms. Le An Na, CEO and Founder of the Vietnam Academy of Etiquette and Protocol (PAVI), presented in detail the rules and evaluation criteria of the final round, helping the competing teams fully understand the requirements and confidently deliver their presentations.

After successfully passing the preliminary round, six outstanding teams advanced to the final round, where they competed in two sections: presentations and Q&A. During this stage, the contestants demonstrated not only their in-depth knowledge, passion, and the valuable insights gained from their research, but also their public speaking skills and flexible critical thinking in order to persuade the judges and leave a strong impression on the audience.

At the conclusion of the contest, following careful deliberation and evaluation, the Organizing Committee announced the final results as follows:

  • First Prize: Team 6, Class 32 (Dang Duc Hieu, Nghiem Thi Ngoc Giang)
  • Second Prize:
    • Team 4, Class 30 (Dinh Thuy Duong, Vuong Thai Ha, Nguyen Ha Phuong)
    • Team 5, Class 31 (Nguyen Hoang Long, Dao Thi Ngoc Nhu, Dinh Huy Duc Minh)
  • Third Prize:
    • Team 1, Class 32 (Nguyen Anh Hong, Nguyen Ngoc Bao Han, Chu Duc Hiep)
    • Team 2, Class 33 (Vu Manh Cuong, Pham Van Chien, Trinh Minh Thu)
    • Team 3, Class 30 (Nguyen Le Thai An, Nguyen Hai Anh, Dao Nhat Tan)

The 13th “Understanding Asian communities” presentation contest concluded successfully, leaving a strong impression with a wide range of dynamic and engaging topics. The contest served as a meaningful and beneficial academic platform for both students and the audience.
