On October 2^nd, 2023, ULIS-VNU held the opening ceremony of the Korean Language Teacher Training Program in Vietnam in 2023. The course was co-organized by ULIS and the Korean Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City (an affiliation of the Korean Ministry of Education in Vietnam).

In her opening speech, Dr. Tran Thi Huong, Dean of the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture, welcomed and thanked the students for joining the 2023 Korean Teacher Training Program.

Delivering his speech at the ceremony, Vice President Lam Quang Dong affirmed that the Korean Language Teacher Training Program was one of the key projects jointly organized annually by the Korean Ministry of Education and ULIS.

Delivering his congratulatory speech at the opening ceremony, Mr. Kil Ho Jin – Director of the Korean Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City hoped that through the course, students would be able to contribute to improvement of the quality of Korean language education in Vietnam.

The training course has the participation of leading teachers in Korean Language and Korean Teaching Methodology from Republic of Korea and Vietnam. The course includes theoretical and practical modules on Korean language teaching. According to the 2023 plan, after completing 35 credits in the course, students will be granted a pedagogical certificate (issued by VNU University of Education) and a Korean language teaching certificate (issued by ULIS and Korean Language Center in Ho Chi Minh City).
