Symposium on 25 years of the U.S-Vietnam cooperation in English language teaching

On December 10th, 2020, the Regional English Language Office – the U.S. Embassy (RELO) coordinated with the Management Board of the National Foreign Languages Project – Ministry of Education and Training, VietTESOL and ULIS-VNU co-organized the symposium on 25 years of the U.S-Vietnam cooperation in English language teaching.

Delivering his speech at the symposium, Mr. Nguyen Huu Do, Deputy Minister of Education and Training said that a quarter of the century had passed since Vietnam and the United States announced the normalization and establishment of diplomatic relations (July 12th, 1995 – July 12th, 2020), and the two countries had become comprehensive partners in all fields, with the prospect of expanding cooperation in the coming time.

Mr. Christopher Klein, Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi, said in his speech that helping to improve English teaching capacity in Vietnam had long been an important goal of the U.S Diplomatic Mission in Vietnam.

Also at the seminar, guests and experts who directly participated in bilateral education and training projects between Vietnam and the United States discussed and looked back at the cooperation in English teaching capacity development over the past 25 years, as while making recommendations to strengthen the partnership in the coming years.
