ULIS Thailand Day 2020

On January 1st, 2020, ULIS – VNU organized the ULIS Thailand Day 2020 with the participation of hundreds of students.

ULIS Thailand Day is celebrated on the first anniversary of the Division of Southeast Asian Language and Culture, ULIS – VNU. The event was organized to promote and introduce the teaching of Thai language at ULIS – VNU and this is also the first time that this activity has taken place.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President Lam Quang Dong said that following the policy of developing Thai language at the University, the Division of Southeast Asian Language and Culture was established on January 24th, 2019 to promote the teaching and study of the language and culture of Thailand in particular as well as countries in Southeast Asia in general, thereby meeting the needs for increasing connectivity and cooperation among countries in the region.

Ms. Morakot Janemathukorn, Thai Deputy Ambassador to Vietam said that the Thai language festival and Thai Eloquence Contest today were very meaningful events. She expected that Thai language training activities would develop stronger in the future.

Within the framework of ULIS Thai language festival 2020, many activites took place such as Thai Eloquence Contest, Thai cuisine and cultural performances, etc. Students had the opportunity to experience Thai food, make flower bouquets, try Thai dance, take pictures with traditional Thai costumes and so on.

With many diverse and interesting activities, the Thai language festival at ULIS brought new and unique experiences to all the guests.
