International Conference: Researching and Teaching Korean Studies in Vietnam towards an interdisciplinary approach
On March 24th, 2023, ULIS-VNU held an international conference under the theme “Research and teaching Korean studies in Vietnam towards an interdisciplinary approach”. This is an activity within the framework of the ULIS AKS CORE project funded by the Korea Development Fund – Korea Central Institute of Korean Studies.
In her opening speech, ULIS AKS CORE Project Director Tran Thi Huong said that up to now, Korean language training as well as Korean studies in Vietnam after nearly 30 years had reached many milestones and obtained achievements. In addition, the number of Korean language learners is increasing day by day.
Delivering his speech at the conference, Vice President Lam Quang Dong shared that the international conference was a positive and meaningful event with the aim of gradually improving the capacity and research potential of the faculty of the Faculty of Korean Language and Culture of the university in particular and of the Vietnamese researchers and experts in this field in general.
The plenary session of the conference had 3 keynote speakers who delivered depth research and findings. In addition, 19 papers were presented at the parallel session. The international conference brought new knowledge, perspectives along with fascinating discussion to the participants.
