Mr. Marco Bistacchia: “ULIS staff are competent, collaborative and helpful, students are very motivated”

Q: Share a little bit about your personal information (Name, age, where you are from specifically and what is your involvement at ULIS)?

A: My name is Marco Bistacchia. I’m 40 years old, and I’m from Italy. I have been serving as an Italian language teacher at ULIS since October 1st, 2018.

Q: Share a little bit about the path that led you to ULIS (The University of Languages & International Studies)?

A: Employment contract after winning the Ministerial Notice for Graduates in Italian.

Q: What did you worry about before going to work in Vietnam and ULIS, also?

A: I have taken care to bring with me the necessary didactic material.

Q: Share about what you have been experiencing during your time here?

A: I remember having some social pleasure moments with colleagues and students, both during work and free time.

Q: What is your most memorable moment while working at ULIS?

A: The first day of class with the teachers or I would say my first group of students. Many questions, and so many smiles and welcome greetings.

Q: What do you think about ULIS, your colleagues and your students?

A: Competent and helpful staff, collaborative colleagues and motivated students.

Q: How do you feel about Vietnamese people, food, culture?

A: The Vietnamese people are impacted by kindness and hospitality.

The food is optimal.

While culture – but this happens in all societies – is changing very fast as a consequence of globalization processes.

Q: After all, what makes you most impressed about ULIS?

A: The fact that as the name recites it is really a cultural and multilingual laboratory.

Q: Your plan in the near future?

A: Return to Italy and try to do a PHD.

Q:  Anything you want to share with us and other international experts?

A: I believe that the creation of a multilingual space where to organize cultural events, video projections in original language, etc. could be an occasion to increase cooperation between Vietnamese teachers and international staff, and at the same time to involve students in multilingual and multicultural activities.
