(UNC 2024) International seminar: Academic integrity and research ethics in the fields of linguistics and teaching in Vietnam
On March 16th, 2024, ULIS-VNU organized an international seminar under the topic “Academic integrity and research ethics in the fields of linguistics and teaching in Vietnam: Policy and practice”.
Delivering his opening speech, Vice President Lam Quang Dong emphasized that the event was an opportunity for everyone to share knowledge, experience and propose new initiatives, contributing to the development of the academic field and society.
In the first presentation, Dr. John R. Baumann from Indiana University spoke about academic integrity, a core topic in research. He emphasized that integrity was the foundation of trust and respect in the academic community, and a prerequisite for sound scientific development.
In the second presentation, Vice President Lam Quang Dong addressed the issue of “Innocence or Negligence” with profound contents related to violations of academic ethics.
A discussion was also held with many opinions, questions and sharing raised, creating a constructive atmosphere on topics related to academic integrity and research ethics.
The seminar is not only an academic forum to promote academic integrity and research ethics in Vietnam and around the world, but also an opportunity to build relationships, creating conditions for the common development of international academic community.
