On September 21, 2018, the University of Languages and International Studies – VNU, Hanoi held a warm meeting with students having special circumstances of the University.

The meeting was attended by Vice-President Assoc.Prof.Dr Ngo Minh Thuy, Deputy Head of Politics and student affairs office Nguyen Van Doan, Deputy Head of academic affairs office Nguyen Viet Hung, Vice Dean of FELTE Nguyen Tuan Anh, Vice Dean of Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture Nguyen Dinh Hien, Vice Dean of Faculty of Korean Language and Culture La Thi Thanh Mai, Secretary of Youth Union Nguyen Hoang Giang, Chairman of students’ Association Dang Huyen Thu and other officers of the school.

Particularly, the meeting was attended by 11 students with special circumstances: Do Thu Ha, Le Thi Ha An, Tran Thuy Linh, Tran Thi Van Anh and Cu Minh Ha, Le Thi Tam , Dam Ha Anh, Khuong Thi Bich Hang( Faculty of English Language Teacher Education) ; Nguyen Thi My Linh ( Faculty of English Language); Le Thi My Duyen(Chinese Language and Culture Department); Nguyen Thi Nga (Korean Language and Culture Department).

At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Head of Politics and student affairs office Nguyen Van Doan shared that on the occasion of the new school year, the University held this meeting to meet students with special circumstances. Subsequently, related units would listen to the students’ thoughts and desires. As a result, they could provide specific and appropriate help to support the students with the best learning condition and environment.

At the meeting, Vice-president Ngo Minh Thuy said: “This is a warm meeting between the University teachers and students with special circumstances. I am happy to see the shining, freshness and comfort on your faces. At this meeting, we will reflect on what we have done since the previous meeting back in January 2018 as well as suggest ways and ideas to work together better. The University will do its best to share the difficulties with the students. Apart from the inner scholarships from the University and from BIDV Bank the University will call on more scholarships to support the students “.

After the sharing from the Vice-President, the teachers and officers representing the units encouraged the students with special circumstances as well as expressed their admiration for the effort to overcome the difficult situation from those students. The teachers affirmed that students would always receive the support, caring and help from all the teachers during their education at the University. The teachers also offered some suggestions and methods to have better support for their children in terms of both learning journey and internship activities.

Also, at the meeting, all of the 11 students had chance to have speeches and sharings about their difficulties, expectations and proposals to the University. All students expressed their gratitude and emotion towards the University when they received such special attention.

On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the University also presented gifts and scholarships sponsored by BIDV Bank for those students.

The meeting closed in an affectionate, warm atmosphere along with the faith in the support from the University. It would bring efficiency and aid as well as become a source of motivation for the students to go further on the jouney at the University.
