Seminar “Translation technology in the digital age”
On September 24th, 2022, the Division of Translation, the Faculty of English Language Teacher Education and the Faculty of German Language and Culture successfully co-organized the seminar “Translation technology in the digital age”. The speaker of the seminar was Dr. Edgar Bohm, lecturer at the Institute of Languages and Translations, University of Leipzig, Germany.
The seminar was part of a series of experiential activities for students studying the English language program at ULIS-VNU with the goal of providing useful and up-to-date knowledge for students who have the desire to become professional translators – interpreters in the future.
During the event, students received useful knowledge, from general information about the translation training program at the University of Leipzig, Germany, to in-depth content on applying the technology in learning and practicing translation.
Through Dr. Edgar Bohm’s sharing, students understood more about the practical significance of technology for the future of translation in Germany in particular and the world in general.
The event helped students gain access to world-level training programs as well as better understand the future labor market, helping them map out their own paths to develop themselves.
